We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in a critical care teaching role. As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to teach, mentor, and supervise new staff, junior colleagues, professional visitors, and students, leveraging your own knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver a comprehensive Critical Care Academy (CCA) education programme through a combination of bedside and classroom teaching methods.
Act as a nurse-in-charge during clinical shifts, ensuring effective coordination and delivery of patient care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance learning experiences and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Provide support and guidance to learners, fostering their professional development and clinical competencies.
Stay abreast of industry advancements and best practices to ensure high-quality teaching and mentorship.

Main duties of the job
Job Responsibilities:
1. **Training and Development**
- Participate in and evaluate the training of all staff on Critical Care.
- Lead Continuing Professional Development (CPD) efforts, ensuring practices are research-based and taking responsibility for specific projects.
- Develop and implement medical device competencies for equipment used within Critical Care.
- Lead training of all staff, ensuring appropriate documentation.
2. **Professional Support and Communication**
- Lead on ensuring all professional visitors to CCA have structured learning and adequate support.
- Maintain effective communication within the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
3. **Education and Evaluation**
- Plan the provision of CCA education with a combination of bedside and classroom teaching.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of CCA Education.
- Participate in clinical audit to assess quality of care given and identify areas for improvement.
4. **Patient Care and Team Management**
- Continuously evaluate patient care and reassess patient needs in consultation with the multidisciplinary team, effecting changes as required to achieve planned goals.
- Identify learning needs of staff and plan/implement programs to meet these needs.
- Review own practices and develop skills and knowledge to enhance patient care.
- Recruit and manage staff, promoting effective teamwork.
- Line manage a team, ensuring staff performance is regularly assessed with appraisals and personal development plans in place.
