Job summary

The Nuclear Medicine department at Royal Papworth Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Radiographer to join our expanding team.

Our busy nuclear medicine department specialises in radiographer led pharmacological stress during radionuclide Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI).

The department has a state-of-the-art GE Discovery 670 SPECT/CT scanner and offer additional nuclear medicine and research imaging.

This is a part time, permanent position of 22.5 hrs per week. Preferably working Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside our Consultants, Radiographers and Cardiac Physiologists to provide an excellent service to our patients and stakeholders. Applicants should possess effective communication and patient care skills with a flexible, enthusiastic, organised and professional approach.

You must be able to work under pressure with a willingness to undergo further essential training.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or DCR (R) or equivalent
  • Current relevant Professional Registration (HCPC)

Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Ionising Radiation Regulations
  • Previous Nuclear Medicine experience
  • Have experience in, or be prepared to undertake training in, pharmacological stress procedures
  • NHS experience or equivalent in an established Nuclear Medicine and / or CT Unit
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal ability to communicate complex / sensitive issues e.g. reorganisation issues
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to support equality and value diversity in the workplace
  • Effectively prioritise own work and those of others
  • Ability to operate as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to take responsibility to work unsupervised
  • Treat hospital information as confidential

Desirable
