Job summary
Are you ready to make a difference in patient care? Join us as a Senior Nurse in our Enhanced Recovery Unit (ERU) and take on a pivotal leadership role in our newly established team.
You will work alongside the Sister/Charge Nurse in providing professional and operational leadership, with 24-hour continuing responsibility for the quality of patient care, ensuring that nursing practice is delivered to an excellent standard. To be responsible for the efficient and effective performance of the ERU along with the Sister/Charge Nurse, including the management of staff.
Main duties of the job
Clinical & Professional:
Lead by example, ensuring every patient receives exceptional care tailored to their individual needs.
Assess complex patient requirements and craft care plans in alignment with ERU guidelines.
Guide patients through their clinical journey, making informed decisions and managing their care pathway.
Communication & Teamwork:
Foster positive relationships with colleagues and collaborate effectively with other departments.
Keep patients and families informed, ensuring transparency and understanding throughout their care journey.
Planning & Organisational Skills:
Provide clinical leadership to drive improvements within our nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
Coordinate workloads, monitor staff performance, and ensure optimal deployment of resources.
Managing People & Resources:
Provide guidance and management to nursing staff within the ERU, supporting their development and growth.
Training & Teaching:
Champion continuous professional development, providing mentorship and guidance to staff.
Foster a culture of learning, ensuring all team members are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge.
Policy & Service Development:
Identify areas for service enhancement and actively contribute to improvements.
Maintain accurate records and promptly investigate incidents or audits as required.
Research/Innovation & Development:
Lead clinical audits, implementing changes to improve patient care and outcomes.
