Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an independent, organised and motivated administrator to come and work as part of our busy Interstitial Lung Disease Unit!
About the team/department
Our specialist clinicians support and treat patients with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). There is a positive and supportive culture within the department and the whole team works hard to ensure new members receive a warm welcome.
Main duties of the job
This role involves providing a high quality, patient focused, efficient and complete administrative to the Multidisciplinary team within the Thoracic and Ambulatory Directorate. There will be particular responsibility to proactively monitor and track patient pathways in order to ensure that patient journeys are processed in a timely and efficient manner in line with nationally and locally defined targets. The post holder will coordinate the weekly MDT which involves liaising with senior clinical and non-clinical staff both internally and externally as well as minute taking. The post holder will also have line management responsibility.
Key Skills Include:
The ability to communicate basic or sensitive information to colleagues, patients and relatives.
The ability to pay close attention to detail in written and electronic communication and information storage.
The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality administrative support.
Ability to organise, prioritise and adjust own workload in relation to the priorities of the department on a daily basis.
Please note that you will not have face to face patient contact as part of this role.
