Job summary
This is an 8 month locum IMT post based in the Respiratory Department at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will have the opportunity to work in the Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre for 4 months and gain experience in the initiation of non-invasive ventilatory support, assessment of sleep related disorders and care of patients weaning from invasive ventilatory support. Following this, the post holder will be part of the Pulmonary Vascular Diseases Unit for 4 months which assesses and cares for patients with pulmonary hypertension of many aetiologies. This post affords an opportunity to gain experience in specialised respiratory medicine with close consultant supervision.
Main duties of the job
1.Participation in inpatient care provision for patients with advanced respiratory disease requiring support for chronic ventilatory failure and in the management of respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders (4 months).
2.Participation in inpatient care provision and assessment of day case referrals of patients referred with pulmonary hypertension of varying aetiologies. (4 months)
