Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join an outstanding finance team and organisation on a secondment/fixed term arrangement. Directly reporting to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership of the organisation and lead the finance functions of the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment.
The role leads the finance functions of financial management, financial planning and strategy, commissioning, and financial accounts. It also plays a lead role in the development and implementation of the Trust's business intelligence strategy and an active role in moving forward the Trust's commercial and external partnership strategies.
As a member of the Finance Senior Management Team and a member of the Management Executive, you will provide professional and efficient advice to all levels of the organisation helping to deliver efficiently, effectively and with integrity the goals of the Trust and the directorate.
The postholder also acts as the Finance Director for the Royal Papworth Charity. The Charity exists to raise funds for the Trust in order to sustain the hospital as the UK's leading centre of excellence for the treatment and diagnosis of cardiothoracic diseases. It's fundraising activities also support the Trust's pioneering research activity and vision for the future and providing the very best for our patients, their families and our staff. Main duties of the job
We are looking for a CCAB qualified and registered accountant with exceptional communication skills and a proven track record of successfully coordinating large and complex programmes or projects at a senior level.
The successful candidate will have previous NHS experience and a strong grasp of the strategic context in which the Trust operates. You will be an influential team player who works in a collaborative way to empower, motivate and influence key stakeholders inside and outside the organisation, in this exciting and challenging role.

- Completion of a CCAB / CIMA recognised accountancy qualification with significant PQE experience preferably in a specialist Financial Management or Financial Services or Strategic Finance role.
- Professional registration with a CAAB body.
