Job summary

The Health Records Department at Royal Papworth Hospital provides high quality and efficient administrative services:

An accurate and timely medical records service by sourcing, preparing and dispatching paper records, in time for patient appointments and admission.

*Scanning documentation into the EMR system to maintain a complete patient record, as well as quality control of the EMR system to ensure the patients' record maintains its integrity.

*Registration and Referral services and the post holder will be required to maintain this service within the service level agreements.

*Provide resilience to the wider Digital Dept. by providing assistance to the IT Helpdesk team in times of emergency

We are looking for an organised flexible person that must be able to work within a team but equal ability to work on your own initiative, who enjoys meeting demands in a busy challenging environment. You will have excellent customer service and keyboard skills, with a polite telephone manner and previous office/administrative experience would be desirable.

The department operates on a shift rota system covering the following patterns which will be at Royal Papworth Hospital, Biomedical Campus, Cambridge.

Main duties of the job

The HRD team is a key for smooth running patient journey in Royal Papworth Hospital.

To work as an effective team member in providing a high-quality health records service in accordance with the hospital's needs.

*To respond effectively and professionally to all telephone and in-person enquiries using tact, discretion, and sensitivity as appropriate to the situation

*Accurately and efficiently record patient's referrals for the trust using EMR workflow and Lorenzo systems, in accordance with guidelines and service level agreements

*To ensure case notes/CAFs entering the department are administered on Lorenzo correctly and dealt with appropriately

*To record a patient death correctly accurately and efficiently on Lorenzo

*Responsible for ensuring patients CAFs are sourced and prepared for each patient attendance, on time and in accordance with guidelines.

*Responsible for ensuring the daily Admission book is administered correctly and on time.

*To be responsible for ensuring all requests and returns for Offsite Storage are administered efficiently, cost-effectively and to deadlines, in accordance with guidelines
