Job summary
Responsible to Head of Estates & Facilities, working closely with Director of Estates & Facilities, Trust Estates team and Clinical Leads to ensure leadership and management of Fire Safety Management. Developing good working relationships with Departmental Managers to form part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide the best possible Fire Prevention Service to the Trust.
Provide management support/specialist fire safety advice in relation to maintenance and repair, using best business and working practices.
Developing/delivering a strategic compliance road map, policies/procedures, Risk Based Inspection Program, delivery of fire safety training of Trust staff and associated satellites, devising and improving training and evacuation methods commensurate to departments.
Ensuring the Trust is informed with changes in legislation/guidance appertaining to Fire Safety and representing the Fire Safety team within E&F and the wider Trust.
Key skills: highly motivated, innovative, well organised, computer literate, excellent interpersonal skills, strong leadership/management skills, self-motivated and able to motivate others. Can work under pressure, to tight deadlines, solve complex technical problems and make decisions.

Main duties of the job
Delivery of the Trust-wide Risk Based Inspection Programme ensuring fire risk assessments meet statutory requirements of the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 and HTM 05-02 Fire code.
Monitor, by regular inspection, fire safety standards in Trust premises to identify deviations from current legislation and codes of practice.
Implement the Trust's Fire Strategy, Fire Policy and 5-year Action Plan. Fire Protocols, policies, and procedures, working collaboratively for a quality service, new initiatives, problem solving, to ensure Trust wide services are met.
Stakeholder management, liaison with local authority Fire & Rescue Service Officers in the inspection of buildings, investigation of outbreaks of fire, implementation of FPN 11 and fire matters of joint interest. Network with other Trusts and organisation on fire safety.
Finance monitoring for fire safety across the Trust.
Effective communication/management of complex sensitive situations across the Trust.
Fire Safety Training of all Trust & Agency as defined within Fire code.
Monitor and maintain records to provide continuity of training and to test operational procedures.
Management of Hard/Soft FM Manager roles.
Working to Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 and HTM 05-02 Fire code.
Responsible for the management of Safety Groups as required under HTM00 eg HTM 05-02.
