Job summary
A new exiting role has arisen for a highly motivated, clinically
registered individual (e.g., nurse or Allied Health Professional) to be our
Patient Safety Lead. You will lead on elements of the National Patient Safety
Strategy and Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) with our
clinical teams.

Main duties of the job
The
Patient Safety Lead will support the Assistant Director for Quality and
Safety (senior nurse) in all aspects of patient safety and incident
management functions to support the delivery of high-quality safe care for
all who use our services.
You
will support and provide clinical guidance to clinicians/managers to ensure
safe, quality services can be achieved, and deliver a framework of integrated
governance for the Trust in a coordinated, systematic, transparent, and focused
way, supported by the Risk Manager and your team.
You
will be responsible for the co-ordination, implementation and continuous
development of a patient safety environment and culture, through the
effective oversight of the day-to-day management of systems and mechanisms to
support the reporting of, and investigations of incidents, including serious
incidents.
You will lead, co-ordinate and implement national
directives in relation to the strategic direction of clinical governance, in
line with the NHS Patient Safety Strategy (2019) and implementation of the
Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
The post
holder will be responsible for the effective leadership of the Trusts
Incident and Risk team and deputise for the Clinical Governance Manager (as
requested), including occasional attendance at the Trust Coroner inquests.
