Job summary

We are seeking talented individuals to join the Trust's Strategy, Performance and Planning team as Contract & Collaboration Managers.

These new roles are an exciting and unique opportunity to support our services and play a key part in the Trust's relationships with our NHS commissioners and system partners across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

You will be the contract lead for a portfolio of YAS Urgent and Emergency Care services. This is a varied and challenging role involving: managing commissioning relationships, supporting service improvements and commercial developments, and contributing to the development and delivery of the Trust's Strategy and operational plans.

Within YAS, contracting has a broader role within the Strategy, Performance and Planning Team. This requires skills beyond the typical contracting function and offers new development opportunities.

We therefore welcome applicants who may bring experience from commissioning, service delivery, service improvement, contracting or finance backgrounds. We are looking for someone who is familiar with the challenges and complexities of working across a wide and diverse health system, and who can build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Successful candidates will need excellent communication and analytical skills, with experience in delivering projects or service change in complex systems.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for managing a portfolio of service contracts and collaborative arrangements between the Trust, our commissioners and system stakeholders; ensuring the implementation of robust contract management processes to support the delivery of agreedpriorities, standards and service developments.

This is a key role within the Strategy, Planning and Performance Team and is an important part of the wider management team supporting our operational services. Working in collaboration with the Head of Contracting, the post holder will be the lead contract specialistfor the services within their portfolio area. The role will utilise their own contracting and commissioning expertise, and is responsible for interpreting and enacting national contract, planning and procurement guidance as it applies to their portfolio area.The Contract and Collaboration Manager will:

  • Develop, negotiate and manage clinical service contracts (income) and collaboration arrangements with NHS commissioners and other system stakeholders
  • Act as Strategy, Planning and Performance Business Partner for their service areas; providing expert contract management and taking an active role in the development and delivery of the Trust's Strategy and Operational Plans
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with services, commissioners and system partners to support the planning and contracting cycle and to progress service improvements and business development opportunities
