Job summary
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service are seeking experienced 1st level working line manager for various assigned locations to support the cleaning provision needs for the Trust within given assigned locations and staff.
The role is to Line manage/supervise the Ancillary provision with our Head Quarters and satellite locations ensuring domestic staff and their activities provide a safe and clean environment for staff and visitors.
This vacancy will require ability to work Evenings / weekends and allocated Bank holidays and will potentially be required to manage other locations as required. (Transport Provided)
Flexible approach to working hours will be required towards meeting and capturing staff support.
A driving license IS ESSENTIAL - You will be required to confirm within your application that you hold a fulldriving license which must also be valid in the UK.
Main duties of the job
Duties to include:
The post holder will be required to perform a wide range of first level line manager duties, associated to the provision of the Ancillary Service cleaning; inclusive of team-based working and the cover ofcleaning duties in staff absenceand as when required.
Support other line managers and locations across the Yorkshire area as and when required
Post holders will ensure a high standard of service delivery is maintained in relation to the cleaning provision requirements of your assigned sites and staff

You will build professional relationships with department/site managers and all other service uses and stake holders; and will empower your team to follow this nature of relationship development.
The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational demand of our service users.Provisional working hours are:
- primary 07:00-15:00 3 weeks
- 4th week; Evenings 13:00-21:00
- 1 Weekend working 07:00-13:00 (within the 4-week rota)
- This vacancy will require a degree of flexibility within shift patterns to ensure available support for staff and operational needs upon locations.
Post holders will develop a one team environment , nurturing, supporting and empowering our staff to achieve the required skills to meet service needs and encourage staff to engage in personal development.Post holders will ensure all practices and procedures are maintained to Trust standards.Post holders will be required to work with minimum supervision, flexibly and use their initiative in decision making.You must be reliable and conscientious with a good eye for detail and be able to work individually and as part of a dispersed team.The successful candidates must be flexible in their approach and convey a personal commitment to demonstrating the YAS values and behavior's.
Basic competency to use IT equipment; laptop use , tablets etc, is essential for this role.
Previous line management/supervisory experience is essential, previous cleaning experience within the NHS or private sector health care is desirable and the willingness to undertake line manager training and coursed as required.
Physical ability to undertaketherequired cleaning within a health care setting is essential. Please be aware, as this role is team based and physical in nature; you will be required to complete a mandatory physical assessment and occupational health assessment prior any offer of contract.Our training package includes NVQ, LMI and NCFE Learning and Development in Leadership and Infection Prevention and Control.
