Job summary

Yorkshire Ambulance Service has an exciting opportunity for a Fire Safety Manager. Working within the Estates Team you will be responsible for providing advice on fire safety matters along with utilising your technical fire expertise to enable the Trust to meet it relevant obligations. With an extensive and diverse range of properties located throughout Yorkshire you will be providing direction on Fire Safety issues in Ambulance Stations, Emergency Call & Administration Centres, Fleet Workshops, Logistical and Training Centres being among some of our principle premise types.

Main duties of the job

  • To act as the Trust's lead competent person in fire related issues in accordance with the NHS Fire code standards and The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
  • Provide guidance/advice to meet all statutory fire compliance in line with legal and NHS requirements.
  • Carry out and audit/review fire risk assessments.
  • Undertake and manage Datix related investigations for fire Incidents and compile detailed reports as required.
  • Develop and Implement the Trust Fire Safety Policy including arranging and reporting on Evacuation drills along with other day to day fire safety related matters.

  • Science/engineering/building based education to HNC/HND level including NEBOSH
  • Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience in a similar role

  • Adaptability to changing and developing processes and procedures
  • Clean driving licence with the ability to travel throughout YAS and worksites in a timely manner
  • IT skills - able to use Microsoft software such as Word, Outlook and Excel
