Job summary
The Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance Team have an interesting and exciting opportunity for a clinician to join the team supporting governance in NHS 111 at Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
We are looking for a caring, empathetic clinician who has a passion for supporting patients, managing risk, investigating, and identifying learning. The successful applicant will work closely with staff across NHS 111 at YAS to conduct investigations into internal incidents and feedback received from the public and other services.
Main duties of the job
Secondment/temporary fixed term until 31/03/2024.
37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri.

During initial training, the successful applicant will be required to work in the office and the IUC contact centre. For applicants who do not hold a Clinical NHS Pathways licence, you will be required to undertake the necessary training which includes conducting clinical telephone consultations to attain the licence.
Once sufficient in the role for independent working the post will be hybrid working - office/home.
About us
The role of IUC Clinical Governance Manager involves liaising with members of the public including complainants, patients, and relatives in a sensitive and open manner to address their concerns, provide explanations, and give apologies.
The post holder will be empathetic and adaptable to provide a satisfactory resolution. The role includes writing coroners and serious incident reports, engaging with patients and relatives through the duty of candour process, investigating, identifying learning, and presenting learning across the Trust.
The post holder will provide guidance to staff and line manage the IUC Clinical Governance Quality Coordinators and the IUC Pathways Audit Co-ordinator.
The post holder will forge good working relationships internally and externally with NHS Pathways, commissions, and other NHS 111/IUC providers. The successful applicant will ensure that themes and trends of risks, the four Cs, and incidents are monitored and reported at Trust, directorate and locality level as part of quality systems and to inform service improvements.
Please note the successful applicant will not be required to undertake the Frequent Caller Manager aspect of the role.
