Job summary
The Acute Inpatient Service specialises in providing assessment and treatment for adults experiencing acute episodes of mental ill health. We support adults who present with a variety of experiences, needs and diagnoses, working dynamically to collaboratively support their holistic wellbeing beyond 'just' a diagnosis. The Acute Inpatient Service is a progressive advocate of reducing stigma regarding mental ill health and actively works alongside partner agencies and carers to achieve individualised recovery goals.
The Acute Inpatient Service can be a challenging environment due to the fast pace and variation in the presentations of the individuals whom we support. However, such factors contribute towards the dynamism, enthusiasm and up skilling of highly supportive teams. The Acute Inpatient Service collaboratively and compassionately supports individuals in their experience of crisis. LYPFT are invested in reducing the use of restrictive interventions, especially within inpatient services. We provide care for individuals who receive treatment under the Mental Health Act and those who are admitted informally. Teams have enthusiastically worked to embed the Safewards model into every day culture and practice and are actively working on the implementation of further initiatives to improve the experience of services users.
