Main duties of the job

The Role:We are looking for compassionate and experienced Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will support people with learning disabilities in a supported living environment, helping to develop independence and achieve their personal goals. We support people with complex health and behavioural needs. Experience of PBS and or postural management is desirable.

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Supporting individuals in accessing community activities and services.
  • Following support plans and promoting independence.
  • Supporting people with healthcare interventions and positive behaviour support plans.
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with team members, families, and other professionals.
  • Encouraging social interaction and helping people build relationships.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship.

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country.
