Main duties of the job

An exciting development opportunity to work in a new and emerging Adult Eating Disorders Service across West Yorkshire as a Highly Specialist Eating Disorder Practitioner (Band 7)

Main duties of the Highly Specialist Eating Disorder Practitioner will include a combination of clinical and leadership working.

Clinical workYou will work closely with the Link-ED multidisciplinary team and lead on triaging all new referrals into the service. Alongside training and developing the Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) through training sessions and workshops you will also support service users by increasing their knowledge and understanding of disordered eating through psychoeducation groups, 1:1 drop in clinics and signposting to 3rd sector organisations. You will attend appropriate service user meetings within the CMHTs to provide additional assistance supporting patient centre care.

Leadership workThe Link-ED Adult Eating Disorders Service is new and emerging, you will be involved with all aspects of service development including staff training, service user experience, service evaluation, interpreting clinical data and outcome measures. You will provide clinical supervision within the Link-ED team and support the Clinical Team Manager by attending leadership meetings.

This is a temporary full-time post for 12 months (maternity cover) working within the Link-ED Adult Eating Disorder Service, across West Yorkshire. We have recently been given the opportunity to grow our MDT which has enabled this leadership role to be created. The successful candidate will be working closely alongside the Clinical Team Manager for the service, developing and embedding the newly developed clinical model across the 5 geographical areas we cover (Leeds, Wakefield, Calderdale, Kirklees and Bradford). As a service we support service users who have disordered eating secondary to their primary mental health issue, these include Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder. You will have some experience of working with individuals with an eating disorder to provide advice and consultation for CMHTs whilst also facilitating psychoeducation groups and drop in clinics for service users. There will be strong support for research and development over the course of the 12 months.You will work closely with your Eating Disorder peers within Link-ED and the wider CONNECT eating disorder teams, to support smooth transitions of care across the teams for service users.The post holder must hold a professional healthcare registration.
