Job summary

We are looking for an individual to lead our accredited ECT treatment service, to continue to support the team to provide an excellent specialist service to patients and lead the service and team on developing additional treatment options within the service. The individual will be passionate about the benefits of ECT treatment and improvements to patients quality of life. The service also provides education and support to staff within the trust and student from all professions.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Team Manager will provide operational management of the teams and have clinical responsibility for the services on a day to day basis. They will work within the role of team member/clinical lead of the operational sessions. They will provide leadership and support to the team and take a lead any future developments of the service provision.

  • To take a leading role in supporting the development of effective working relationships with service users, carers, internal Trust wards/services and external Trust services/teams that have service level agreements with the LYPFT.
  • Resolve formal and informal verbal and written complaints in a timely and effective manner, communicating outcomes to relevant parties as delegated by the Clinical Services Manager and in accordance with Trust policy.
  • The post holder will be able to demonstrate a high level of skill and expertise in effective decision making whilst exposed to distressing and highly emotional situations.

Job responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with relevant others to ensure agreed Service Level Agreements are implemented.
  • Develop a research and evidence based culture that is visibly transparent in effecting staff learning and which has a direct impact on improving patient care.
  • Assist with data collection, completion of statistical information and monitor the effectiveness and impact of this
  • Contribute to learning from and development of strategies for service Improvement from:-
    1. SUIs, Disciplinary and Grievance cases, Clinical Incident Reports and
    2. Complaints and compliments
    3. Provide appropriate on-call support on a designated rota
  • Lead on fact finding investigations, complaints, service reviews, disciplinary issues relating to all aspects of the teams role and function.
  • Organisation and planning of the service provision
  • A commitment to the delivery of services that is responsive to service users culture, gender, age and their families and/or carers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly skilled in prioritising team and own work, especially whilst working under pressure
  • Ensure that local, directorate and national targets, key performance indicators and quality standards are met, monitored and reported on a regular basis
  • Ensure that services are reviewed, monitored and continuously improved within the framework of Clinical Governance
  • Participate in on-call CTM rota and support across the trust
  • Organise, chair and facilitate team meetings and away day events
  • Monitor any variances in the standard of care provided within the services and contribute to discussions and review mechanisms of same.
  • Ensure practice is based on effective clinical information and maintain an up to date knowledge of evidence based practice and research development
  • High level skills to consult liaise and negotiate with service users, carers/family members, other professionals and the wider community.
  • Ensure expenditure does not exceed budget.
  • Provide supervision and appraisals for designated staff
  • Lead and participate in the provision of a comprehensive induction programme for new staff, ensuring a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities and philosophy of service
  • Carry out reviews and monitoring of individual caseloads and workloads, to ensure that the team works effectively
  • Take a lead on service development project
