Job summary

Senior Psychological Practitioner (Clinical, Counselling, Forensic)/ CBT Therapist/ Psychotherapist

We are looking for a HCPC registered Psychological Practitioner to contribute to our highly respected service supporting people who are experiencing homelessness and compound complex needs, including substance misuse, mental and physical health difficulties. Working within Forward Leeds and LYPFT, one of the biggest substance use services in the country, the team works to help some of the most marginalised people in the city to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment in their lives. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work flexibly and creatively to establish what's needed to have the most positive impact for people who struggle to access our mainstream services due to their social, economic and psychological circumstances.

Main duties of the job

You will contribute to our trauma-informed service, ensuring that psychological perspectives are central to everyone's thinking. You will support the empowerment of teams and individuals to increase knowledge, skills, and professional confidence around the needs of the people we support. Through direct and indirect clinical work, consultancy, clinical supervision, reflective practice, team formulation, training, and clinical case management, you will support the team to continue to deliver an innovative and effective service that adheres to best practice guidelines and the delivery of high-quality care.

  • Doctorate level training in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS (or equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996) with HCPC registration OR Doctorate level training in Counselling Psychology or Forensic Psychology (or Masters accredited by BPS) with HCPC registration OR Masters or above in a psychotherapy, and accredited as a psychotherapist with UKCP or BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council) OR Postgraduate Diploma qualification in Cognitive and/or Behavioural Psychotherapy AND Practitioner Accreditation/Full accreditation audit status with BABCP as a CBT therapist AND either a prior core profession or via KSA route.
