Job summary

Across West Yorkshire, Adult Eating Disorder, Adult Secure and Children and Young People Providers Collaboratives are live. The West Yorkshire Commissioning Hub has a key role to play in terms of planning, commissioning and the quality assurance of the services delivered by the respective provider collaboratives.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an additional permanent Quality Lead, dedicated to taking a leading role in setting up consistent quality assurance structures. This is a rare opportunity to help to shape and further develop the West Yorkshire Commissioning Hub for Specialised Mental Health Provider Collaboratives.

The NHS Long Term Plan sets an ambition for greater local system integration and autonomy which enables local providers of services to manage the budgets and clinical pathways for their local population. The NHS-Led Provider Collaborative programme is key in delivering this transformation across specialised mental health, learning disability and autism services.

About us

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. This is a vital role concerned with engagement and set up of standardised processes for the quality oversight function. It is envisaged that this 12 months, fixed term/ secondment post will embed the principals and procedures associated with quality, so that at the end of the term, clear frameworks exist.

The core functions of this role will include:

  • Working with service providers to embed quality improvement and learning. Supporting the delivery of transformational care as described in each provider collaboratives clinical model and business case
  • Developing internal systems and monitoring processes to ensure that provider collaborative commissioning is responsive and learns effectively from a range of information sources including: serious incidents, patient experience, complaints and other quality/performance information
  • Overseeing the day to day management of those quality monitoring processes for provider collaborative mental health, learning disability and autism services within agreed standard operating procedures
  • Ensure policies and procedures for quality are written, updated and enacted across the collaboratives.

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.

Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent in key areas relating to Quality Monitoring and Assurance systems and processes

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of managing clinical risks and reporting

  • Demonstrates a strong desire to improve performance and make a difference by focusing on goals.
