Job summary
Looking for an opportunity to make a difference to the delivery of care in acute inpatient mental health settings? We are looking for someone who has passion and enthusiasm to co-lead and develop our Acute Inpatient Service; if that is you then we want to hear from you. As Ward Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the day to day running of one of the wards within the service and ensuring that the care you provide is safe and effective and of a high standard. You will be leading and developing the service in partnership with the Acute Inpatient Service Leadership Team. Main duties of the job
As ward manager, you will be involved in promoting safe and effective inpatient service, undertake audits and quality assurance checks and patient safety initiatives such as fire safety and environmental checks and effective discharge planning.
The post holder will be expected to attend complex professional case reviews and CPAs.
Deliver and facilitate management supervision to designated staff and ensure that all team members have personal development plan/appraisal in place.
The post holder will lead on fact finding investigations, complaints, service reviews, disciplinary issues relating to all aspects of the team's role and function.
They will ensure effective communication and collaboration with other services and partner agencies.
Attend and contribute to Operational and Governance meetings, working in partnership with the Practice Development Team and Matrons.
The post holder will be involved in sickness monitoring.
They will also be responsible for managing the ward budget.
