Are you a senior lead with exceptional organisational skills?

The Trust Board Secretary is a key senior role and a member of the Trust's Senior Leadership Team and the Executive Management Team. The post holder will be required to operate with a considerable degree of autonomy and trust to maintain their independence as Trust Board Secretary and to ensure the Trust's business is conducted with probity, accountability and in accordance with legislation, national standards and regulations to support the delivery of high quality service user care. They will also have considerable experience of working effectively with both board members and the Council of Governors.

The postholder will act as the conscience of the Board and the Trust on matters of probity and good governance. They will be responsible for providing independent and authoritative advice to the Chief Executive, the Chair of the Trust, other Board members and governors on highly complex and sensitive corporate governance issues.

Main duties of the job

As the lead specialist in the Trust on legal, constitutional and corporate governance issues they will be responsible for ensuring there are robust corporate governance arrangements in place to support the effective management of the Trust.

The post holder will be responsible for managing and developing systems, policies and processes that support and underpin sound corporate governance across the Trust, this will including managing the processes for the development and review of all Trust policies and procedures.

This is a high profile role and the the post holder will be required to work across organizational boundaries and with their peers in the West Yorkshire ICB footprint.

The post holder will also:

  • Lead the corporate governance team ensuring there are robust and effective arrangements in place for matters of compliance and the running of Board of Directors, Council of Governors and sub-committee meetings.
  • Play an influential role across the Leeds Place and the West Yorkshires Integrated Care Board to ensure there are robust governance arrangements in place to support the work of the Trust regionally

In all areas of the post holders work they will ensure that they contribute fully and appropriately to the Trust's strategic aims, align with and promote the Trust's values and foster a culture of collective leadership.
