Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a person-centred Chaplain to lead and develop a small, dedicated team in LYPFT.

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, caring, committed and compassionate team player with demonstratable mental health experience and a proven commitment to collaborative multifaith working across healthcare settings.

We aspire to having a chaplaincy team that is representative of the community we serve and one that has a visible presence on our child and adult inpatient wards irrespective of their religion or belief. As Lead Chaplain, you will need to be able to work independently and pro-actively to deliver spiritual and pastoral care to patients, relatives, staff and learners in situations in which people suffer from challenging mental and emotional distress across the services of Leeds and York Partnership NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will develop therapeutic working relationships with multidisciplinary teams and faith and belief leaders in the community. You will be supportive of chaplaincy volunteers who have a desire to provide high quality pastoral, spiritual and religious care to patients, visitors and staff.

As lead chaplain you will be responsible for the provision of mentoring, support and supervision to the team as well as working with the team to deliver the Chaplaincy service work plan to help improve the lives of staff, patients and families in contact with the organisation.
