For the first 12 months in your role, you will also be supported to receive ongoing development through an agreed period of support to assist in your adaptation to working in the UK and within your service. This will be done through our International Nurse Transition Framework.
Alongside the Transition Framework, you will have supernumerary status for up to 6 weeks as you receive a bespoke induction programme when you first start in your service to help orientate you to the Trust as well as to your allocated clinical area.
About us
You will be expected to achieve all the required competences and objectives contained within the Framework within a 6-12-month period. You will be provided support to achieve this by your clinical team where you will be allocated a Mentor. You will get two study days a month for shadowing or learning opportunities as well as attending multi professional workshops. In addition, there will also be support from the International Nurse Recruitment team who will hold a range of training workshops, forums, facilitate restorative supervision and link in with you in your clinical area to provide other identified support.
You will be supported to reflect upon your own learning and achievement during your transition and be supported to plan for your own personal, educational and career development. You will be given opportunities to attend nursing conferences, external training and you will also have access to a complete package of leadership, management and compulsory training keeping you up to date and safe at work.
