Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Leeds Gender Identity Service for a General Practitioner with Special Interest to work in the Hormone service for 2 sessions per week.

Successful applicants will be provided with a training period before undertaking independent clinical work. There will also be ongoing supervision within the Hormone service which includes Endocrinologists, GPs, Psychiatrists and Non-Medical Prescribers.

Leeds Gender Identity Service is one of 7 national services (in addition to new pilot sites funded by NHS England), providing a wide range of care for people experiencing difficulties related to their gender identity. You will be working as part of a well-established and supportive MDT including a range of different professionals.

Main duties of the job

As the successful post holder you will be an integral part of the hormone prescribing team, as well as the wider MDT. You will provide hormone assessment/specialist advice and recommendation for hormone treatment, working in partnership with the wider MDT and primary care colleagues.

To comply with all Trust policies and procedures, drawn up in consultation with the profession on clinical matters.

To participate in and complete all activities required to achieve revalidation and recertification according to GMC and Royal College requirements.
