Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand the offer of psychological therapies within the COMHAD (Co-Occurring Mental health, Alcohol and Drugs) Team at Forward Leeds. We are looking for a full-time Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist to provide individual therapy (and potentially group interventions) for those struggling with problematic substance use across the city of Leeds.

LYPFT have a long history of providing drug and alcohol services to Leeds. We are a trauma-informed service comprising of multiple teams providing services to those who struggle with substance use across Leeds. You will be supported by the principal clinical psychologist within the team and have access to regular supervision, opportunities for CPD and a well-established multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work across the three hubs across Leeds to provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to people with substance use and mental health problems. We sit within secondary mental health services, which reflects the severity of mental health problems that service users will present. The candidate will play a key role in managing referrals, assessments and their own clinic times across the hubs. The candidate will be working with people who have struggled with trauma in the main and the subsequent difficulties associated with this. The candidate would always be jointly working withother professionals either within the teams or across Forward Leeds. They will need be a good communicator in order to ensure that care is joined up.

The candidate will be expected to access regular clinical supervision and will be supported by the principal clinical psychologist and the team of psychological professionals in the service which is currently growing. As a senior practitioner, the candidate would be required to take a lead role in the psychological thinking across the service.
