Job summary
The NHS Northern Gambling Service is a regional service, with clinics in Leeds, Manchester and Sunderland. The service is led by a Consultant Psychologist. The core programme for service users and carers is psychological therapy in a group and/or individual format. The multi-disciplinary team is made up of psychology, psychiatry, mental health nurses and a psychotherapist. The post holder will be based in our Leeds or Sunderland clinics depending on preference of successful applicant. If the successful applicant is based in Leeds, two days travel to the Sunderland clinic will be required on a weekly basis. Travel time will be included in working hours, as well as travel expenses.
Main duties of the job
Cognitive Behavioral Therapist or Psychologist Clinical, Counselling or Forensic
The post holder will be a qualified psychologist or cognitive behavioural therapist. They will provide assessment, case formulation, risk management, and treatment of service users with gambling disorder and co-morbid distress. The role also involves using our family intervention for those affected by someone else's gambling disorder. This will be delivered using by using both individual and group therapy which could be face to face or virtual.
