North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) is a collaborative procurement organisation based in Sheffield and hosted by Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT). Our aim is to deliver best value procurement outcomes for the NHS through collaborative working. A wholly NHS owned organisation NOE CPC brings together a wealth of experience, understanding and knowledge, providing collaborative procurement and commercial solutions to the wider NHS and is one of the leading players in collaborative procurement within the NHS in England.

Main duties of the job

This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Supplier Relationship Manager to join the NOE CPC team. This new dedicated SRM role will join and be aligned to our existing Category Procurement Teams focused on driving value and delivery for NHS through enhancement of supplier relationship management and associated framework and contract management activity. The role will be focused on priority spend categories and markets in which NOE CPC have a strong presence working on behalf of NHS, including; Digital/ICT, Estates/FM & Business Services, Healthcare Services & Pharmacy (Non-Medicine). Substantial knowledge and experience of working in one or more those categories/market areas, along with commercial expertise and relationship management skills are seen as being important in these roles. Knowledge and experience may be demonstrated through working in either public or private sector.

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individual(s) wanting to make a positive difference for

the NHS in this exciting and rapidly developing area. The successful candidate(s) should be able to demonstrate a strong commercial skillset, excellent interpersonal skills, a strong track record of building and managing successful strategic relationships with suppliers and/or customers, and a pro-active, can-do approach.

This new role will work closely internally with NOE CPCs own category procurement teams, operational procurement team and customer relationship management team. They will also work with colleagues across NHS, including Trusts, ICSs, other NHS collaborative procurement organisations and national strategic partners to build high quality relationships with the supply market in key category areas.

As a Supplier Relationship Manager working as part of NOE CPCs category teams you will need to:

  • Drive and lead the development of Supplier Relationship Management as a discipline within NOE CPC for the benefit of NHS.
  • Build excellent working relationships with peers, colleagues, suppliers, customers and other external stakeholders.
  • Positively engage with and influence strategic suppliers, including developing an advanced understanding of the supply market.
  • Have strong subject matter expertise in one - or more - of the category (market) areas in which NOE CPC operates.
  • Develop and implement an approach to suppliers and market segmentation which supports category strategies.
  • Work with a range of local, regional and national stakeholders to ensure SRM activity is aligned across NHS at all levels, in line with policy and strategic priorities for that category area.
  • Develop supplier performance management and associated KPIs relevant to the category and framework area.
  • Engage with existing and new suppliers, including SMEs, and work to achieve public sector Social Value objectives, including sustainability and environmental goals.
  • Demonstrate tangible delivery through SRM activity against NOE CPC targets.
  • Commercially astute, and proactive in applying own expertise in support of NHS
