Job summary

An exciting opportunity is now available for a senior HCPC registered Psychological Practitioner to influence the expansion of the complex rehabilitation programme in West Yorkshire by working into two integrated services - the Community Rehabilitation Enhanced Support Team (CREST) and the Complex Care Facility (CCF). They are hosted within LYPFT, part of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care System (ICS) and united in one aim- to empower people to define, build and live meaningful, independent and satisfying lives outside of locked settings, often termed "complex rehabilitation".

Established in 2021, CREST comprises a psychologically led, multi-professional and peer recovery workforce who deliver new ways of working for people placed out of area to effectively be repatriated from inpatient settings to forge new lives nearer to home. The soon to open CCF is connected and offers sustained care in a newly designed, trauma-informed inpatient environment specifically for people with mental health needs requiring graded preparation for more independent living. Recurring feedback from evaluation with service users/families, providers and other stakeholders is that people working with the programme “feel included”, “clear on the plan” and appreciative of “commitment”, “transparency” and “coproduction”.

Main duties of the job

As an experienced psychologist with knowledge & expertise working with people experiencing severe & enduring mental health difficulties, which includes psychosis, trauma & risks of harm, you would deliver appropriate direct & indirect clinical interventions, team formulations, reflective practice, consultancy & training to help develop a team-based and psychologically informed understanding of the service users' needs & use this to accelerate the most effective pathway towards a new home.

As an integral part of the team you will be supported by the consultant psychologist clinical lead & wider leadership group to further expand the psychological offer to improve service user outcomes informed by newly configured trust & ICS-wide governance frameworks committed to continuous improvement, addressing inequalities & co-production. You will be invested in to consolidate & expand your professional development, join a growing team of psychological practitioners across the complex rehabilitation programme & embed in a Trust with a vibrant strategy for the psychological professions. Service users are drawn from out of area settings & resettled into place, which comprises Leeds, Kirklees, Calderdale, Wakefield & Bradford.
