Job summary

The Mental Health (MH) Project Manager will form part of the West Yorkshire (WY) Mental Health (MH), Learning Disability (LD) and Autism Programme Team, supporting the SRO and Programme Managers to deliver the priorities set out in the West Yorkshire Strategic Plan including older adults mental health, community mental health transformation and urgent and emergency mental health care.

Mental health is a key priority for the West Yorkshire Integrated Care System and the MHLDA Programme has a wide range of workstreams that are designed to address the ambitions set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. You will be at the forefront of designing improvement projects to deliver these ambitions.

The role will include project management and project delivery responsibilities including the scoping, design, implementation, delivery and management of projects derived from the strategic plan.

Main duties of the job

Day to day responsibilities will include:

Using project management methodology to develop robust project plans, track and report progress, identify and manage dependencies and identify and manage risks.
Supporting staff, managers and stakeholders to identify and implement transformational opportunities.
Ensuring initiatives are co-produced and designed with service users and their families/carers.

Job responsibilities

You will work with a wide range of stakeholders to develop and implement a project infrastructure to deliver defined work streams associated with, but not limited to, older adults mental health, community mental health transformation and urgent and emergency mental health care.

You will have a key role in influencing change and supporting providers and other stakeholders to undertake improvement work in clinical and non-clinical services as well as supporting the design and development of new and improved pathways of care which focus on early intervention, least restrictive practice and improving outcomes.

The post is flexible in terms of base and host organisation but travel between the West Yorkshire inpatient units will be required. Secondment applications are welcomed from across the Partnership.
