Job summary
Are you looking to develop your skills in eating disorders in a supportive and innovative setting? As part of the developments within the Connect Service, we have created a B5 development post for existing band 5's. You will start as a band 5 and then have the opportunity of becoming a band 6 as you develop your nursing or occupational skills with CONNECT, the regional specialist eating disorder service. To support you in the development from a band 5 to a band 6 you will be supported to access the Mary Seacole Training to further develop your leadership skills.
Working as part of the award winning CONNECT service the successful candidate will be passionate about supporting adults with eating disorders in the community. You will be supporting other professionals within the service whilst working as part of an MDT to enable a joined up approach in a service user's recovery. You will offer one to one and group work interventions to support patients in their recovery in line with NICE guidance. As part of the West Yorkshire Adult Eating Disorder Service under the New Care Models programme we are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse or an Occupational Therapist with an interest in eating disorders to be involved with the delivery of the service.
Main duties of the job
You will provide a high standard of care to an allocated group of West Yorkshire service users with a diagnosis of eating disorders in the community, as part of a remote working and home intervention programme. You will work as part of a developing multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality service to people with eating disorders and you will be responsible for own clinical caseload and assist the service in providing integrated and comprehensive treatment programmes. Working within a community setting you will assess, plan and manage the complex needs of individuals with eating disorders whilst also assessing for any psychiatric co-morbidity and other relevant needs with the support from the MDT. You will also participate in in the planning and delivery of a group therapy programme which is in line with evidence based practice treatment outlined within NICE guidance
