Acute Care Excellence is a programme of improvement to ensure the provision of effective, safe, purposeful and high-quality services. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with our clinical teams to lead this programme in our Acute Care Services which include the Acute Inpatient Service, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, Crisis Resolution and Intensive Support Service, Crisis Assessment Unit, Police Pathway and Capacity and Flow Team.

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and innovative senior clinician who has experience in Acute Care to join our Practice Development Team to develop and embed new ways of working in our services and achieve our vision of providing outstanding acute care to our service users.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to provide expert clinical leadership to the teams, working in partnership with senior colleagues and spend at least 70% of your time in clinical practice.

In conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team for the Acute Care Services you will lead the development of practice highlighted within the Acute Care Excellence and support increased levels of skills, competencies and confidence in all areas of practice. Projects to date have included embedding a robust gatekeeping process in the Crisis Resolution Service, Facilitating Early Discharge from Acute Inpatient Wards, implementing formulation on Acute Inpatient wards and reducing clinical variation.

Working in partnership with the Continuous Improvement Team, you will provide regular progress reports to key stakeholders via the Clinical Governance Structure and the Acute Care Excellence Steering Group

Providing clinical supervision is a key component of this role.
