Job summary
We are looking to employ a Specialist Deaf Outreach Worker who has lived experience of being deaf & deaf culture. You will need a fluent command of British Sign Language to work in a bilingual working environment.
You will join a team of passionate and innovative mental health practitioners working with deaf children, young people and their families, across the North West of England.
Main duties of the job
You will co-work with your team members and be involved in clinical work such as initial appointments, general mental health assessments, therapy /intervention sessions, care plans and risk assessments. In addition, you will need the ability to assess language & communication and to write reports.
You will offer support and advice to external professionals to help improve the mental health of deaf children/young people.
You will have access to relevant training, regular supervisions & team meetings to enhance your skills and development.
