Job summary

We are recruiting for two Project Managers to join the WY Mental Health, Learning Disability & Autism Programme.

The Project Managers will form part of the West Yorkshire (WY) Mental Health (MH), Learning Disability (LD) and Autism Programme Team. One post will support the SRO and Programme Managers to deliver the priorities set out in the Strategic Plan including improvements to crisis support, care and treatment for those with an eating disorder, those going through transition from adolescence to adulthood and those with neurodivergent needs. The second post will support the SRO and Programme Managers to deliver improvements to the quality of care CYP with mental health needs receive in a paediatric setting.

Children and young people have told us that they want to be listened to, they want to be involved in planning their care, they want to have choices and they want to be treated with dignity and respect. You will be at the forefront of designing improvements projects to deliver these expectations.

The role will include project management and project delivery responsibilities including the scoping, design, implementation, delivery and management of projects derived from the strategic plan.

Main duties of the job

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Using project management methodology to develop robust project plans, track and report progress, identify and manage dependencies and identify and manage risks.

  • Supporting staff, managers and stakeholders to identify and implement transformational opportunities.
  • Ensuring initiatives are co-produced and designed with children, young people and their families/carers.

You will work with a wide range of stakeholders to develop and implement a project infrastructure to deliver defined work streams which ensure CYP can access MH support easily and in a personalised way and that any developments and/or transformation are co produced with young people/carers, and pay particular attention to addressing inequalities and removing barriers to accessing support (eg culturally appropriate, inclusive and based on need not just on medical diagnosis).

You will have a key role in influencing change and supporting providers and other stakeholders to undertake improvement work in clinical and non-clinical services as well as supporting the design and development of new and improved pathways of care which focus on early intervention, least restrictive practice and improving outcomes for CYP.

The post is flexible in terms of base and host organisation but travel between the West Yorkshire inpatient units will be required. Secondment applications are welcomed from across the Partnership.
