Job summary
To provide Abortion and Sexual Health information, pre-treatment assessment and treatment to patients in a supportive manner, in accordance with NMC Guidelines for Professional Practice, the Abortion Act 1967, the Health & Social Care Act 2008, Policies, Procedures and Quality Standards. To line manager other clinicians involved in the provision of the service at the unit, and to act as 'person in charge' in the absence of the Unit Manager. To provide cross-cover with the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) Lead Nurse in times of absence.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of holistic, high quality, evidence-based care to patients accessing the gynaecology and early pregnancy services provided on the Women's Health Unit. The post holder must be able to work without direct supervision and will be expected to undertake clinical procedures and extended roles, as indicated by service needs. Support and training will be provided, where required.
The post holder will work autonomously and as part of the multi-professional team.
