We are looking for someone with the right experience and ability to work as an effective team member, providing clinical leadership and advice on the efficient and smooth running of our services.
Joining our team of 16 Consultants based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, you will provide services for patients across North Derbyshire and the surrounding area.
This is a full-time post to support the continued delivery of personalisedhigh-quality care our women expect close to home.
The role will suit someone with the relevant experience to help us deliver antenatal care for women with pre-existing medical conditions, and for pregnancies which are high risk due to fetal reasons.
You will work flexibly to cover both Maternity and Gynaecology including provision of assessment care, and treatment of emergency patients presenting to the department.
Skills in Fetal Medicine to enable provision of cover for scan clinics is expected. SITM in fetal care, relevant Contingent SITMs or accreditation to an equivalent advanced skills module with obstetric scanning are essential to the role.
Additional accreditations are desirable. We can also support individuals to develop additional skills to complement the special interests.
You will contribute to the East Midlands and Yorkshire Fetal Medicine Networks, as well as taking opportunities to develop future services for provision of excellent care for our patients. You will also join the regional fetal medicine related MDTs as required.

- MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification
- SITM in Fetal care or accreditation to an equivalent advanced Pregnancy care module with obstetric scanning abilities
- Full registration with GMC with a Licence to Practice and entry on the Specialist Register or training to a level commensurate with the award of CCT/HPT or eligibility for entry on the specialist register of the GMC within 6 months of advisory appointments committee
- Relevant CCT or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of AAC)
