Job summary
The role involves taking full and independent responsibility for care of patients, including provision of daytime and out of hours urological emergency cover shared with 5 other consultant urologists.
We are looking for someone who will bring skills to complement those in place in the department, as well as looking to take on or develop an area of special interest.
Your main duties will comprise a mix of outpatient clinics, as well as elective theatre lists, flexible cystoscopy lists, new and follow up (general), TP biopsies and Cancer MDT. Along with a full range of 'core' urological outpatient services and procedures.
You will have broad clinical experience in Emergency Urological Surgery, along with the ability to offer expert clinical opinion on both emergency and elective problems within specialty,skilled in the investigation and management of core urological conditions, including cancer, and may undertake laparoscopic nephrectomies and endo-urology, and you will be an active member of the uro-oncology local MDT.
Team working and providing clinical leadership for our surgical firm, as well as education and training for our medical workforce, medical students and for our wider clinical team is essential.
Management experience with the ability to advise on the efficient and smooth running of the service, as well as influencing future service developments, taking opportunities to further develop excellent care for our patients is required.
