Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Specialist Doctor in Radiology to further develop our Imaging services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity, and it is anticipated that there will be occasion for the appointee to develop a sub-specialty interest within the role.
This is a full time post which comprises a total of 10 PAs per week. There will be an expectation to join in the middle grade on-call rota along with other Radiology Registrars. You would be joining a team of 11 consultant radiologists.
This post is ideally suited to Radiologists who have a post-graduate qualification in clinical radiology, completed FRCR and wish to gain more experience in subspecialties of Radiology such as MSK, GI Imaging or Thoracic Imaging. There will be robust peer (Consultant) support/supervision, as well as support to obtain CESR.

- MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
- Full GMC registration with license to practise.

Experience
Essential
- Minimum 12 years' medical work (either a continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification, of which a minimum of six years should be in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades (or equivalent including overseas service)
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of radiological investigations.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
- Proficient at reporting acute CTs and doing general acute sessions.
Desirable
- 5 years supervised training in an appropriate ST equivalent training programme.
- Experience in a similar post
- Clinical leadership experience or training.
- Higher management training
