Job summary

We are looking to appoint someone who would like to gain NHS experience and consolidate their knowledge, skills and confidence prior to moving on to the next stage of their career.

This post will provide the opportunity to learn practical skills and assessment techniques relevant to practice of ENT surgery across this medium sized acute Trust.

The appointee will be core/F3 level and will join a team of other core level trainees. The role will enable the development of good generic skills across the subspecialty, working closely with the Consultants and Specialty Doctors. Activity will include ward cover, outpatient clinics and support for the Emergency Department (ED). There will be the opportunity to attend ENT theatre lists.

Some aspects of the role can be bespoke to the individual needs of the post-holder and tailored to take account of previous relevant experience.

There will be the opportunity to participate in teaching, audit, guideline development and service improvement projects. We will also provide support to help you develop a portfolio for those who want to evidence their role and training. A clinical supervisor will be allocated for the duration of the placement.

The work pattern in operation is Monday to Friday with some late shifts until 20:00 hours (no weekends or night shifts).

Some level of surgical experience at Foundation or SHO level.is preferred but not essential. The minimum skill requirement includes 2 years of post-graduate experience.
