Job summary

The maternity wellbeing midwife will provide presence in supporting the delivery of an expert supportive and empathetic service to women and their families experiencing pregnancy loss, perinatal trauma, or perinatal mental health issues. The post holder will support the birth trauma/bereavement lead and the perinatal mental health lead acting as a resource for women, families, and maternity staff on the physical, psychological, and administrative aspects of these care pathways.

The post holder will liaise with external agencies and ensure that all administration including reporting, is completed in a timely manner for the benefit of the family.

The post holder will support the 7-day service and also support the delivery of mandatory education sessions to staff.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the Chesterfield Maternity Wellbeing Team providing bereavement, trauma and mental health support to women as well as facilitating a well established birth afterthoughts service.

This post holder will form an integral part of the team focusing on the support of women who have suffered a pregnancy loss at any gestation, supporting women who have had a traumatic perinatal experience and also women who are in need of support with mental health issues.

There is an expectation that you will liaise with additional stakeholders and also contribute to the delivery of the divisional mandatory training.

You will contribute to the provision of a 7 day service and also to maintain clinical competency making this a good opportunity for a job share for candidates who may want to consider this.

A comprehensive induction programme will be provided to support the successful candidate.
