Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Consultant with a CCT in General Medicine and Geriatrics, plus special interest in Stroke, to join our multi-disciplinary Stroke team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This post will suit someone with ambition, drive and passion, who is committed to supporting the achievement of our aspiration to move our current award of SSNAP 'C' to a 'B' and then coveted 'A' rating. Plans to develop and improve the service are being taken forward with the full support of the hospital leadership team and we are looking for an individual who will come and work collaboratively with us and with our regional colleagues.

We are seeking someone with mentoring skills, who has a commitment to providing education and training for our medical workforce, medical students and our wider clinical team.

Depending on experience, you may wish to develop a sub-specialist interest within Stroke medicine.

There is no requirement to be part of the General Medicine consultant on call rota. However, the appointee will have an opportunity to contribute to the 7-day Stroke and Geriatrics provisions, which comprises weekend work on the Acute Frailty Unit and Eastwood ward.
