Job summary
We are looking for someone who will bring skills to complement those in the department, as well as looking to take on or develop an area of special interest.
Main duties comprise of a mix of outpatient clinics, elective theatre lists, flexible cystoscopy lists, and potentially a TRUSS/ trans-perineal biopsy list. You will provide a full range of 'core' outpatient services and procedures.
You will have broad clinical experience in Emergency Urological Surgery, along with the ability to offer expert clinical opinion on both emergency and elective problems within specialty as well as taking full, independent responsibility for care of patients, including provision of daytime and out of hours emergency cover shared with 5 other consultant urologists.
You will be skilled in the investigation and management of core urological conditions, including cancer, and may undertake laparoscopic nephrectomies and endo-urology, and you will be an active member of the uro-oncology local MDT.
You will have the ability to work as an effective team member, providing clinical leadership for our surgical firm, as well as education and training for our medical workforce, medical students and for our wider clinical team.
We are also looking for someone with management experience who will, along with colleagues, advise on the efficient and smooth running of the service, as well as influencing future service developments, taking opportunities to further develop excellent care for our patients.
