Job summary
We are looking to appoint a number of Bank Receptionists to join our busy Emergency Department.
As a Bank member of staff you would pay a vital role in the smooth running of the department by covering shifts which would otherwise remain unfilled.
You will need some flexibility to pick up the variety of shifts that the role offers.
Main duties of the job
The ED receptionists are often the first point of contact for patients coming into the department and are responsible for ensuring patients are admitted onto the departments systems accurately and efficiently.
The applicants must have excellent organisation skills and be happy to work in a busy environment dealing with patients/relatives/doctors queries face-to-face, via email and over the telephone.
To provide a flexible and efficient 24 hour comprehensive reception service within the Emergency Department, this includes booking in walk in and ambulance patients. It is an ever changing environment which runs 7 days a week, 365 days of the year & you will be required to promote the smooth running of the Department by maintaining effective communication with patients, relatives, Multi-Disciplinary Team, other Divisions and external agencies.
- Maintaining a professional front of house image
- Providing efficient administrative support to the department maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Liaising with patients, outside organisations/services and other departments within the trust in a professional manner
- Ensuring the smooth running of the Care Unit in an ever changing busy environment
- Working efficativly as part of team using good communication and problem solving
