Job summary
The Bereavement Team at Chesterfield Royal are looking for someone who is caring and compassionate with excellent communication skills, to join our small, friendly team. The team provide a vital service by offering practical help and advice to relatives of those who have recently died at the hospital. This includes meeting the bereaved in person and contacting them by telephone.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are to liaise with relatives in the days following the death of a loved one, this will include offering practical advice and information on registering the death and accessing appropriate support. Full training and support will be given to the successful applicant.The role also include promoting the role of the Bereavement Team to all level of staff within the hospital including attending wards, departments and the hospital Mortuary.
The role includes liaising with Medical Examiners, and Chesterfield Registrars Office regarding the issuing of statutory documentation.
The successful applicant will be offered two set working days a week (Monday to Friday). Hours of work will be 09:00 to 14:45 or 09:15 to 15:00, however as part of a small team, flexibility to cover short term and planned absence within the team is vital.
