Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Screening team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital . We are looking for an experienced midwife who has the motivation and drive to support the delivery of high quality antenatal and screening services .

The Deputy Screening Co-ordinator is a key midwifery role within our organisation

Main duties of the job

To contribute to the provision of the antenatal and new-born screening programmes, ensuring the highest possible standards of care for women and their families. To deputise for the Screening Co-ordinator in her absence, including attending meetings and teaching on mandatory training. The post holder will support the matron with the operational management and organisation of the hospital based maternity out-patient services, undertaking a range of delegated roles and responsibilities.

The post holder will undertake a regular rostered clinical shift on Chesterfield Birth Centre, to maintain clinical credibility and competence in intrapartum care.

Job responsibilities

Co-ordinate the antenatal and new-born screening programmes for the Trust in line with National Screening Standards.

Assume ongoing responsibility for monitoring of compliance of cohort tracking and failsafe mechanisms for all antenatal and new-born screening programmes.

Liaise as required with various multidisciplinary professionals both within the organisation and with external stakeholders, to ensure care is delivered to the woman and her family effectively and efficiently.

Assist the ANNB Screening Co-ordinator to produce an annual report of antenatal and new-born screening services and with quarterly data (KPI) submission. Committee.

Work within the local risk management processes and in line with National NHS Guidance regarding the investigation and management of safety incidents in the NHS screening programmes.

Assist with preparation for any external audits or inspections related to the screening programmes.
