Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a band 5 Occupational Therapist for 30 hours to support the delivery and development of our children's outpatient service.
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months and provides an exciting opportunity for any therapists wanting to gain experience working with Children and Young people with Physical difficulties and disability.
You will work as part of a cohesive and dynamic team who are committed to service delivery and development in line with evidence based practice.
We are looking for individuals who are interested and confident in working with both children and their families. You must be able think creatively, work flexibly and independently as well as being a strong team player, and have excellent communication skills
Main duties of the job
As a therapist working mainly in an outpatient setting you will be supported by a Band 6 therapist to hold a caseload. You will assess children's occupational difficulties and plan, deliver and evaluate treatment programmes with children and families aiming to support occupational participation and performance. You will use creative techniques to meet child and parent goals using a combination of face to face, telephone and video appointments with individuals and groups. You will also be expected to contribute to service developments and improvements.

You will work as part of a supportive and friendly team based in The Den, our purpose built centre for Children's Services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Our service supports children and Young people from 0 -19 who have a functional difficulties associated with a physical disability or difficulty. We have a strong team identity and are working together to realise our vision of providing a sustainable, innovative, high quality service across North Derbyshire.
