Clinical Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist

Job summary

We are a friendly, diverse therapy team who are passionate about delivering evidence-based patient care and are seeking a dedicated, highly motivated, experienced paediatric physio.You will be the Team Lead for our Mainstream Physio Team (5-16yrs in mainstream education). You will manage your own caseload of neurological and neuromuscular children and young people. You will also provide support junior staff to manage more complex patients and continue to develop their practice and clinical reasoning.You will be part of a combined OT and Physio service and be expected to drive service development and planning service delivery with your fellow Band 7 colleagues (OTs and PTs) and Band 8a Clinical Lead.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver expert assessment/treatment for 5-16 year olds with a wide range of neurological and neuromuscular conditions in 1:1 and group settings.
  • Advance department practice: contribute to service evaluation/development.
  • Lead/participate in clinical audit and quality improvement.
  • Create new/review existing clinical pathways.
  • Facilitate a positive learning environment for all team members through in-service training, clinical supervision and student placements.
  • Triage referrals.
  • Communicate/liaise with the internal and external MDTs.

  • Degree/diploma in Physiotherapy by recognised awarding body e.g. Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently between TRFT sites and for patient visits in the Rotherham area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010

  • Member of relevant clinical specialist interest group e.g. APCP
