An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small & friendly team at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work as a Senior Booking Clerk & Reception Supervisor within the Cardiac Physiology Service. The service is based across the Cardiology Suite and the Cardiac Device Suite on A Level at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.You will be an integral member of the Cardiac Physiology team, working autonomously within the reception areas providing admin support to the wider team. You should have experience working in a clerical role, a professional attitude and be able to work flexibly in a busy environment. You will ideally have experience of working in a hospital reception environment and be familiar with administrative processes and practices. You will work as part of a team as well as being able to use your initiativeResponsible for booking investigations, clinics and day-case procedures in line with local and national targets. Organising administrative work for the Cardiac Physiology service and the day-to-day supervision of the receptionists/ clerical officers. Key trainer for Cardiac Physiology administrative processes. Main duties of the job
For full description please see attached Job description.Duties include but are not exclusive to:Scheduling and Booking procedures, clinics and investigations appointments in line with local and national targetsLiaise with/ Inform senior managers of any problems as appropriate.Maximise clinic capacityExplanation (non-clinical) about procedure types and booking arrangements for procedures & testsAction clinic outcomes appropriatelyActively monitor and ensure validation of waiting listsEnsure clinical reports are sent out within appropriate timescalesEnsure urgent reports are sent out within KPI targetsMonitor and respond to departmental emails promptlyEnsure referrals are appropriately processed via the departmental electronic systemsCommunicate appointment information to patients and carers, maintaining patient confidentiality.Assist in creating a patient focussed environment, maintaining dignity and privacy.Receive and action enquiries promptly and efficientlyUses judgement and analysis to resolve any problems within the parameters of the roleOrganisation of appointments with transport or portering for both in-patients and out-patientsPerforming general reception and administrative duties as necessaryDay-to-day organisation of reception work and appropriate delegation of duties/ supervision of teamKey trainer for Cardiac Physiology administrative processesIdentifies and addresses training needs within the team
