Ward B5 is a 33-bed unit specializing in the healthcare of older people. We provide compassionate, patient-centered care for patients with complex physical, mental health, and social needs. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to deliver high-quality care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being.

We are looking for a skilled and caring Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our ward team. This role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, supporting the wider team, and contributing to clinical governance, audit, and education initiatives. You will work closely with senior nurses and the multidisciplinary team to ensure the smooth running of the ward and the best outcomes for our patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients in line with Trust policies and professional standards.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the ward, including supporting patient flow and discharge processes.
  • Assist in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and monitoring of care standards.
  • Support the education and development of junior staff and student nurses by sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting, handovers, and team meetings.
  • Act as a role model for professional standards, patient safety, and compassionate care.
