Job summary
Rotational Physiotherapist, Permanent Band 5 37.5 hrs per week. Therapies and Dietetics are seeking to appoint Band 5 Physiotherapists to our dedicated and enthusiastic team in a rotational position. Our band 5 physiotherapy 6 month rotations offer an excellent opportunity to gain experience across the whole patient pathway within both acute and community settings. We have a strong commitment for developing our staff; you will receive training and support to develop your professional, personal and clinical skills through clinical supervision, personal development reviews and in-service training. We offer a Band 5 development programme across all professions within Therapies and Dietetics to look at the wider NHS agendas and trust topics.There is a flexible approach to service delivery which includes 7 day working, evening and weekend services within clinical areas. These differ between services and the successful candidate may be required to have a flexible approach to their working day, including weekends. Rotational physiotherapists are required to join the respiratory on-call team following completion of the comprehensive on-call training programme, with ongoing support from the team as required.Ability to travel independently around Rotherham and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes (Adjustments can be considered in accordance with the equality act 2010) is required.
Main duties of the job
The rotations: Musculoskeletal Outpatients. Clinics in locations across Rotherham. Manage a variety of MSK conditions for all ages. Includes shoulder, back and hydro classes. Orthopaedic Outpatients. The upper and lower limb teams manage conservative and post-operative rehabilitation. Includes a variety of groups and hydro sessions. Orthopaedic Inpatients. Treating conservative and postoperative elective and trauma patients, paediatric orthopaedics and day surgery. Close work with the wider MDT. Stroke Rehab Team. Rehabilitation to stroke survivors in acute and community settings. The MDT includes OT, SLT and Psychology. Health Care of the Older Person. Therapy to adults on the Medicine wards, the Acute Medical Unit and the Frailty Service. Respiratory Rotation. Work in specialties including the Acute Medical Unit, Medical, Surgical and Critical Care areas. Locality Rehabilitation Therapy. Offer personalised rehabilitation packages in various community settings. Community Paediatrics. Assess and treat children with long term neurological/ neuromuscular conditions in a variety of settings. Amputees. Provide assessment and rehabilitation intervention to Amputee patients in an outpatient setting. Gain skills in prosthetic assessment management. Pelvic Health. Provide assessment and intervention for perinatal and Pelvic health. Intermediate Care. Work in an MDT to provide assessment and rehabilitation to a variety of patients in our community bed bases.
