This is a new, high-impact leadership post across Barnsley & Rotherham Trusts.

Responsibilities include: Data and Analytical Services, plus Clinical Coding, Data Warehouse Management (site-dependent)

Core Objective: Drive innovation and service redesign by fully leveraging data and insights across both organizations.

This role requires an experienced leader in their field, capable of translating complex data capabilities into tangible service improvements and strategic organizational advantages across the two Trusts

Main duties of the job

Key Leadership Duties:

Strategic Leadership: Optimize data/BI infrastructure to align with Trust needs; champion the value of Clinical Coding, Data Engineering, and BI Analytics.

Innovation & Efficiency: Facilitate service redesign and deliver enhanced operational efficiency by optimizing data/analytics capabilities.

Collaboration & Culture: Foster a data-rich, curious culture through collaboration with professionals, government agencies, and industry partners.

  • Knowledge of how to work with data contained within databases, to compile charts and visuals which support customer insight.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of statistical techniques and their application, Trend Analysis, SPC charts.

  • Knowledge of the NHS Key Performance Metrics and associated national reporting/policy requirements.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to a minimum of Masters degree level, or equivalent post graduate qualification or experience in a specialist information/ data analyst environment.
  • Evidence of management development through Continuous Professional Development and/or formal management course.
  • Evidence of relevant continued professional development of technical skillset.
  • Member of a relevant professional body Fed IP, AphA, BCS.

Desirable

  • Evidence of working in a Public Sector environment.

  • Experience of motivating and inspiring staff managed directly and indirectly to work together to achieve a common objectives.
  • Experience of preparing and presenting reports of complex, sensitive or contentious information at senior forums.
  • Significant leadership experience in a senior information management role including line management responsibility for teams in a large and complex environment (doctorate level or equivalent).
  • Significant relevant experience within data management including management of a significant portfolio with a high degree of complexity acquired through training and experience over extended period.
